Parker Launches Virtual Engineer, the Easy-to-Use Sizing and Selection Design Collaboration Tool That Can Reduce Design Expenses

Virtual Engineer includes many great features, including product life estimation, “Compare” function for multiple products, CAD model availability, and a “My Projects” area, allowing engineers to create, save, and share projects, which means the user can conveniently return to a project at a later date.

CLEVELAND, April 9, 2018 - Parker Hannifins Electromechanical & Drives Division, the global leader in motion and control technologies, announces a motion control design tool for engineers to help with proper selection of electromechanical linear motion. Virtual Engineer presents an intuitive interface where users can easily enter their application specifications (for example: speed, load, external forces) and then quickly navigate to accurately sized product options. The tool delivers a custom specification report, CAD models, and seamlessly creates a ready-to-issue "request for quote" (RFQ). By connecting directly with Parker motion control experts, Virtual Engineer takes collaboration to a whole new level, and by doing so, helps to increase the efficiency of your own valuable engineering resources.

Virtual Engineer includes many great features, including product life estimation, "Compare" function for multiple products, CAD model availability, and a "My Projects" area, allowing engineers to create, save, and share projects, which means the user can conveniently return to a project at a later date. The simple graphical interface allows the user to input details of payload position, external forces, and moments, as well as axis orientation and motion profiles. It also allows for filtering by key attributes or exploring all solutions without excessive required inputs.

As application parameters are applied, a list of possible solutions is presented on your screen. If any specification exceeds a solutions capability, it is eliminated from the available options in real time. After completing all specifications, Virtual Engineers "Compare" feature will clearly display the differences between the most suitable products, including expected life and relative cost. This information can then be saved, downloaded, or submitted to Parker for a price quote.

Virtual Engineer currently supports Parker Electromechanical and Pneumatic products. For more information and to access Virtual Engineer free of charge, please visit: solutions.parker.com/virtualengineer

RBI Solar - Dahlia Has You Covered

What if you could maximize the Ground Coverage Ratio (GCR) on your next project and not have to worry about the complicated variables that come with a tracker system? With a low tilt and clearance design, Dahlia® has the highest GCR of any fixed-tilt system in the marketplace. The system is available in three tilt options (7.5, 10 and 12.5 degrees) and designed to accommodate any sized PV module. The lightweight system is engineered with fewer components, several of which are shipped to job sites pre-assembled. This design feature reduces freight costs and rapidly trims the amount of on-site installation time required to complete construction. Maximizing PV coverage on a site can lead to an increase of production, which creates greater financial return for project owners. Over 100 MW of Dahlia® projects have been deployed across the United States, in regions of variable snow and wind loads. How much can Dahlia® cover and save you on your next project?
