Shockwave Motors won the Regional Cleantech Open event and now moves on to the National Competition. The Southeast Regional prize is valued at $15,000 and includes cash and in-kind services. Regional finalists move on to the Global Event in California in January to compete for the national grand prize.

Shockwave Motors is participating in the 2018 Cleantech Open (CTO) Accelerator Program as a member of the Southeast Region. The regional competition was recently held in Atlanta at the law offices of Thompson Hine. We are pleased to announce that Shockwave Motors won the competition and is now the finalist representing the Southeast Region! The program prepares startup companies with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand their customers and build an economically and ecologically sustainable company. The regional program concludes with an evaluation of the "homework" completed by the companies and a Pitch Contest. Participants are given just 10 minutes to tell their companys story and then face 10 minutes of tough questioning by the judges. The Southeast Regional prize is valued at $15,000 and includes cash and in-kind services. Regional finalists move on to the Global Event in California in January to compete for the national grand prize.

"The accelerator program is a great opportunity and learning experience and we are honored to be able to participate in the program and look forward to International event", said John McMillian.

Shockwave Motors was also recognized with the Sustainability Award for the Defiant EV3 Roadsters ability to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Each Roadster, driven just 15,000 miles a year, will save over 30 barrels of crude oil, as well as reducing CO2 emissions by almost 12,000 pounds. The typical Roadster owner will save about $4,000 a year in operating costs.
