NH Research, Inc. Releases 9300 Series High Voltage Battery Test System
NH Research, Inc. (NHR) has released the new 9300 series, a higher-voltage / higher-power version of its popular single-channel 9210 series battery test systems. The 9210 Series provided a 12kW power module operating at 40V, 120V, or 600V and which allowed paralleling with similar systems to increase the power, whereas the new 9300 system provides a 100kW power module with a software-selectable high voltage range (1200VDC / 167A) and high-current range (600VDC / 333A) allowing for efficient testing of single-voltage and double-voltage Electric vehicle (EV) batteries as well as high-voltage Energy Storage Systems (ESS) used in grid-tied applications.

Innovative tidal technology gets $4.6 million funding
Anmar Frangoul for CNBC: The European Commission has awarded 4.4 million euros ($4.63 million) in funding to a European tidal energy consortium to demonstrate innovative technology for tidal turbines.
The consortium, led by Scotland's Nova Innovation, will use the funding to demo and show a "direct drive power take-off (PTO) solution" for tidal turbines. According to Nova Innovation, this technology could help to cut the lifetime cost of tidal power by 20 percent.

However, the price pressure continues to build up as more production capacities by major Chinese suppliers and new entrants will come on stream in near future. On the other hand, polysilicon in overseas market continue on the descent. With REC ramping up production and Wacker increase the volume in Pacific Asia, the increasing supplies outside of China are one of the reasons to deteriorate polysilicon prices. Moreover, as the downstream prices also see signs of weakening, it also impacts the polysilicon price trend.
