Gov. Herbert also signed into law Senate Bill 141, which provides a two-year extension of a $1,600 tax credit for Utah customers who adopt solar systems, providing much-needed stability as the industry adapts to recently restructured solar rates for homeowners. Beginning in 2021, the credit will be gradually phased down until it is eliminated at the end of 2023.
International experts discuss the future of the energy storage industry
On March 22nd, TÜV Rheinland presented the awards at the 2018 Solar Congress in Wuxi, China. The highly coveted 2017 "PV Module Energy Yield Simulation Award" was conferred to LONGi Solar for the high efficiency and reliability of its mono-crystalline modules.
The plant was constructed over the surface of the reservoir, which is managed by the waterworks bureau of Chiba Prefecture for its industrial use. With 180,000m2 (over 44 acres) of surface area, 50,904 Kyocera solar modules were installed to generate an estimated 16,170 megawatt hours (MWh) per year ― enough electricity to power approximately 4,970 typical households*2.
Eligibility for the award was based on companies or organizations that develop and manufacture devices and systems in specialized areas for commercial applications, or that will be able to manufacture products as a direct result of the award.

The SolarEdge PV inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior solar power harvesting and best-in-class reliability. The fixed-voltage technology ensures the solar inverter is always working at its optimal input voltage over a wider range of string lengths and regardless of environmental conditions. A proprietary data monitoring receiver has been integrated into the inverter and aggregates the power optimizer performance data from each PV module. This data can be transmitted to the web and accessed via the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal for performance analysis, fault detection and troubleshooting of PV systems.
