St. Louis-based Vertegy today announced it has recently expanded its staff to keep pace with the growing demand for green and sustainable consulting services. The company, which also helps clients attain LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), has added Greg Mueller as project specialist.

Mueller joins Vertegy after spending 25 years as a project manager with Vertegy's parent company, Alberici. While at Alberici, he served as a project manager on many multi-million dollar projects, including the $81 million construction of the C-5 Hangar Facility for the 164th Airlift Wing in Memphis, Tenn. Mueller has also played instrumental roles in numerous construction and expansion projects in the St. Louis area, including work with Station Casinos, Inc., The Boeing Company, Centocor Biologics, St. Mary's Health Center, DaimlerChrysler Corporation and the Ford Motor Company. In his new position as project specialist, Mueller will use his construction background to assist him in providing hands-on support for the clients and project teams who are seeking the benefits of sustainable design and construction.

Mueller is currently studying for his LEED Accredited Professional examination and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Founded in February 2005, Vertegy provides clients with design, procurement and construction consulting services for green and sustainable facilities. One of the key ways Vertegy serves clients is by helping them gain certification for their projects from various nationally and internationally recognized certification bodies, such as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which provides LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification. Vertegy — which is derived from combining the Latin root for green and strategy — is based in St. Louis at the new LEED Platinum-certified Alberici headquarters.
