Lifeline Data Centers Announces Four Megawatt Solar Array at Indianapolis Colocation Campus

The solar panel installation allows Lifeline Data Centers to replace its power consumption with solar energy.

INDIANAPOLIS--Lifeline Data Centers today announced the planned installation of a 4 megawatt solar power array at the Eastgate data center campus located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The installation will begin in the next few months and will be fully implemented and functional by April 2014.

The solar panel installation allows Lifeline Data Centers to replace its power consumption with solar energy.

Lifeline Data Centers has maintained an ongoing interest in solar power and has investigated several options for installing a large array of solar panels. Through a long-term partner relationship with Indianapolis Power & Light and with New Generation Power of Chicago, Lifeline Data Centers will implement the utility-grade 4 megawatt solar power generation facility that will provide data center power for a projected 25 years.

The solar panels will be located on the Eastgate campus building rooftops and above several sections of the parking lot.

Lifeline Data Centers joins the likes of Apple, eBay, Facebook, and Cisco in the adoption of solar power as a clean and renewable data center power source that reduces dependence on the commercial power grid. Lifeline co-owner Alex Carroll said: "I am very proud that Lifeline Data Centers is one of the first large independent data center facilities in the country to be largely powered by solar energy."

Lifeline Data Centers is a high tech landlord with both data center and office space available. We offer highly compliant data centers, simple pricing and room for growth and change. For more information, visit http://www.lifelinedatacenters.com/.
