MILWAUKEE - HellermannTyton announces the latest in its solar webinar series: Extreme Weather Puts PV Systems to the Test, at noon central time on Feb. 22, 2017. This webinar details how extreme heat and UV exposure as well as cold and ice prematurely degrade utility-scale solar systems, resulting in costly losses. Solutions and best-practices will highlight the webinar, targeted toward those who install, maintain, manage or own such systems. Attendees will be eligible for one hour of NABCEP credit hours.

"We have visited numerous solar sites where preventable, weather-related damage has occurred," said Nick Korth, product marketing manager - energies for HellermannTyton. "If systems were designed correctly and proper materials were selected up front, thousands of dollars could be saved over the life of the system. With wire management installed on multiple gigawatts of solar in some of the worlds harshest environments, the best practices we share can improve system performance and energy production across the industry."

The webinar will be hosted by Korth and Ecos Energy Asset Manager Cari Helberg. Among the solar plants operated by Helberg throughout the US are installations in Northern Minnesota and Death Valley. She has significant expertise regarding the detrimental effects extreme weather has on solar farms.
