Using Nanotechnology to Improve the Efficiency of Solar Cells

Nanostructure-based coating technology provides increased energy efficiency while minimizing costs.

PPE count on Lufft weather sensors for PV Monitoring

The number of metrics measured by the Lufft's weather stations in combination with the high accuracy of the sensors gives our customers the ability to forecast short-term and long-term generation capabilities of their site with a high degree of confidence.

The State of the Solar Energy Market in New England

New England has been one of the most receptive regions in the US to renewable energy, and continues to adopt a number of different alternative energy sources.

Addressing Energy Poverty Globally and Profitably. Powerstorm ESS

The technology we are developing, called zeroXess, will provide electricity, lighting and Internet connectivity to rural, off-grid, underdeveloped areas throughout the world.

Environmental Concerns and Siting Requirements for Small Ground Mount Solar Projects

This paper will identify and explain the environmental concerns and siting requirements for small ground mount solar PV projects within the FIT 3 and EASR frameworks, discuss the discrepancies, interpretations, and provide a path forward towards successful project execution.

India Focuses on Safety as Country Rapidly Expands Solar Capacity

When new mandatory regulations for photovoltaic products go into effect, manufacturers will have to fast-track compliance.

Repurposing Electric Vehicle Batteries

EV batteries still have storage capacity, typically at 80 percent, after they're removed from their vehicles and can be reclaimed for a "second life" as stationary power sources.

Case Study: Solar Cube - Solar Tracking Solution

The client indicated a large number of high quality; 2 axis solar arrays built on rural and farm properties that were starting to fail.

Tower of Babel: Making Sure Smart Meters Speak the Same Language

Through interoperability, smart meters help utilities and manufacturers realize the promise of the Internet of Things.

Renewable Energy Procurement: Trends, Outlook & Strategy

Replacing electricity generated from burning fossil fuels with electricity from wind and solar is a good business strategy

The Aquion Energy Saltwater Storage Battery

This system is working good in a 4000 sq ft shop & house combo, but could use more storage for peace of mind & will likely upgrade next year.

Follow-up: Moving off-the-grid and into a micro-house in the Southern Adirondacks

I would recommend this living situation to anyone! I feel that this isn't just a temporary fad but a trend that will continue especially for Millennials that are buried in debt, specifically student loans.

Flow Batteries in Cars?

Flow battery technology is immature. There is everything to play for and although pumping liquids from reservoirs does not sound compact or reliable in a car but who knows? Watch this space.

Green Data Centers Promote a Clean Future

Companies realize it won't be practical to rely on old forms of energy forever. The sooner they can test and implement new, greener solutions in their data centers, the quicker they can view the future confidently.

Easy monitoring with weather sensors from Lufft

Easy monitoring with weather sensors from Lufft

Professional weather sensors form the heart of large solar plants supporting their operation and performance. Lufft was the first manufacturer to combine several sensors in one housing, bringing the largest multiparameter weather sensor family with 19 members into being. Many of them are well-suited for solar site assessment and continuous monitoring. The most commonly used one is the WS600 delivering data on temperature, air pressure, wind, relative humidity and precipitation. Through its open protocol, it can easily be attached to radiation sensors e.g. from Kipp&Zonen. Other models have an integrated Silicon, Second Class or Secondary Standard radiation sensor.
