SPI 2016 - Don't Miss The Solar Power International Show

This show is ideal for solar installers, contractors, commercial builders, utility companies, smart home builders, engineering firms and product developers. Of course, anytime is a good time to visit Vegas. So, dont miss this show.

Why SPI 2016 - Interview with EcoFasten Solar

The main goal of our SPI booth and presence is to increase brand awareness, as well as to collaborate with other key players in the solar industry.

Why SPI 2016 - Interview with Samantha Dalton, Marketing Director at SolarRoofHook

We have our QuickBOLT in an aquarium demonstrating its leak-proof abilities, we have our color-coded system boasting all of the roofing styles we supply mounting hardware for, and we have our full line of roof mounts out on rotating displays.

U.S. ethanol plant capacity increases for third consecutive year

The majority of the 195 ethanol plants, and most of the U.S. fuel ethanol production capacity, are located in the Midwest region

Catch a Wave: Achieving Grid Parity With New Hybrid Ocean Technology Harnessing Various Wave Types for Increased Power Generation

Innovative ocean-borne technology, utilizing a dual rotor system and wave ramp to capture all the power contained in a wave, is a highly efficient wave energy converter that actually lowers the cost of delivered electricity.

How To Access Financing For Your Next Commercial Solar Project

Borrowers may underestimate the extent to which they need to be prepared before soliciting project financing. There are six key documents essential for obtaining capital for financing any solar project.

Advances in Inverter Technology

Functioning as the brain of the PV system, advanced inverter solutions are now responsible for communications, monitoring, smart energy management, storage, grid interaction, safety and more.

Transmission's Role in a Clean Energy Future

The power grid serves as the interstate highways of our electric system. A modern, flexible system for delivering electricity generation over long distances is essential to the nations successful transition to a clean power future.

Flight to the future: Solar Impulse shows we can run the world without consuming the earth

The lessons of Solar Impulse are clear: by pushing the boundaries of technology, and refusing to accept limits, technological or psychological, we can run the world without consuming the earth, and reach heights we never believed were possible.

Using Particle Accelerator Technology to Manufacture Solar Cells

This technique is projected to reduce solar panel manufacturing costs by upwards of 60% compared to industry standards, while making them 25% more efficient, and resulting in a very cost-effective source of energy.

EROEI or IOU?

Energy Returned Over Energy Invested - a concept introduced in a paper by Dr John Morgan, which I found in Principia Scientific under the heading The Catch-22 of Energy Storage.

Can We Place Solar Panels in Space?

Since clouds, atmosphere and nighttime are absent in space, satellite-based solar panels would be able to capture and transmit substantially more energy than terrestrial solar panels.

Why Lithium Will See Another Price Spike This Fall

With Albermarles new mine in Nevada and Teslas forecast 2018 demand of between 25,000 and 35,000 TPA, the U.S. Southwest is becoming a new hotbed for the lithium industry.

Obama makes new push on solar power

Timothy Cama for The Hill:  The Obama administration is making a new large-scale effort to encourage deployment and use of rooftop solar power on homes. Numerous agencies announced new or strengthened coordinated efforts Tuesday aimed at increasing solar installations in houses owned by low- and moderate-income Americans, including a new goal for solar installations and a policy change to increase access to a key financing mechanism for solar power and energy efficiency. “This is an approach that cuts across the government to try to take advantage of the fact that the cost of renewable technologies has come down dramatically during President Obama’s tenure, and we want to advantage of that a try to encourage more homeowners to actually benefit directly from that dynamic,” Brian Deese, a top adviser to Obama, told reporters. The administration is dubbing the effort the “Clean Energy for All Americans Initiative.”   Cont'd...

Clean Energy Investment in 2016 Undershoots Last Year's Record

Investment slowdowns in China and Japan, as well as further reduction in the cost of solar, mean 2016 investment will fall well short of 2015's upwardly revised $348.5bn

LG Solar Unveils NeON R with Enhanced Aesthetics and Energy Savings

LG Solar Unveils NeON R with Enhanced Aesthetics and Energy Savings

The NeON R module features "Back Contact" cell technology delivering an entirely black panel that is aesthetically pleasing and energy efficient. The cell's seamless, surface blends perfectly into nearly all rooftop designs while the module's electrodes are positioned on the rear of the cell. Using LG's N-type cell structure, the panels produce 365W of energy, up to 7.3kWp, compared to 5.8kWp of the p-type cell. The module's new design minimizes LID, thereby delivering a longer lifespan and increased energy output.
